ITINERARY

| Day 1 |
Arrival Cochin International Airport. Transfer to
hotel and over night. |
| Day 2 |
Cochin sightseeing. Cochin the
queen of the Arabian Sea is one of the most interesting cities of India and has a finest
natural Harbor. Time immemorial, Arabs, Chines, Dutch, British and Portuguese Sea fares
followed the sea route to Cochin and left their impressions on the town. The ancient
Temples, Churches and synagogues in this city are of special interest archeologists and
historians. The Chines fishing nets, the Jewish Synagogue, the Dutch Palace and the
Bolgatty Palace enrich the heritage of Kerala. (3 hours sight seeing)
Evening at 17.30 hours, watch and enjoy the Keralas most famous
cultural and traditional dance program, Kathakali. Back to Hotel and over
night. |
| Day 3 |
Check out. Proceed to Alleppey (75 Kms.). This Town is having
large network of Canals (country backwater) and is the center for backwater cruises in
Kerala. Check in House Boat for sight seeing cum over night. House Boat, the traditional
enchanting Kettuvallam used for transportation about Hundreds of years,
is made of Anjili Wood. Some called it a Back water resort and can enjoy the serene and
placid village Back waters of Kerala on a traditional boat, including traditional food.
The Birds Sanctuary, Kumarakam can also visit while on House Boat; which is on the
Eastern Banks of Vembanad Lake. Back to Alleppey, dropping / check out |
| Day 4 |
Alleppey proceed to Kovalam Via
Varkala (180 Kms). Enjoy the Sacred Beach. Reach Kovalam and over night. |
| Day 5 |
Kovalam Beach - leisure. The Kovalam Beach
situated 16 Kms. South of Trivandrum City, is one of the best beaches in India. On account
of its natural location, it affords facilities for safe sea bath. A rocky promontory
jutting in to the sea renders the beach safe for sea bathing even in the roughest weather. |
| Day 6 |
Check out and proceed to Kumarakam (180
Kms). This is a birds sanctuary situated 12 Km west of Kottayam on the eastern banks of
Vembanad lake. This is an ideal place for back water cruises. The sanctuary sprawls over
an area of 14 acres and domestic birds like Water Foul, Cuckoo, Wild Duck, etc. are seen
here in abundance. Check in hotel and over night. |
| Day 7 |
Check out proceed to Thekkady, Periyar
Wild Life Sanctuary (135 Km). Perriyar sight seeing. Perriyar Wild Life Sanctuary is one
of the best sanctuaries in India for watching and photographing Elephants at close
quarters. The animals usually found here are elephant, Tiger, Bison, Spotted Deer, Gaur
etc. Back to Hotel and over night. |
| Day 8 |
Thekkady sight seeing. Back to hotel and
over night. |
| Day 9 |
Check out. Proceed to Madurai (160 Kms.) Check in Hotel and
over night. |
| Day 10 |
Madurai Meenakshi Temple Sight seeing.
This Temple is the main attraction of Madurai with History of 2000 years. This temple was
designed in 1560. There are 4 entrances to the Temple and each of its 12 towers has a
height of 45 50 Mtrs. Thousand Pillared Mandapam of the Temple has 985 beautifully
sculptured pallars. Back to Hotel and over night. |
| Day 11 |
Check out. Proceed to Tanjore (175 Kms.) Check in Hotel and
over night. Tanjore is also a Temple City, a dynasty of Temple builders who ruled South
India between 10th and 14th centuries. |
| Day 12 |
Check out and proceed to Pondicherry (175 Km). Check in hotel
and over night. |
| Day 13 |
Pondicherry sight seeing. Pondicherry
covers an area of 480 Sq Kms. consisting of the four coastal regions of Pondicherry,
Karrakkal, Yanam and Mahi. These where the former French possessions situated on the
Eastern Coast since 1954. Places of interest: Sree Aurobindo Ashram - (the world famous
Saint. Philosepher, Sree Aurobindo came to Pondicherry in 1910 and spent his lifetime
here. After his death, the spiritual authority was passed to the "Mother", the
late French woman devotee of Sree Aurobindo),Auroville it is the brain child of the
"Mother", designed by French Architect Roger Anger. According to the concept of
the Mother, Auroville is to be a universal Town where men and women of all creeds and
nationalities are equal and to realize the merits of human unity. Other attractions, The
French Institute, Raj Nivas, Yoga Centers. Back to Hotel and over night. |
| Day 14 |
Check out; proceed to Madras (165 Km). Check in hotel and
over night. |
| Day 15 |
Madras sight seeing: Madras is the 4th
largest city in India and it is the major commercial center in South India. It can boast
of an interesting flair of South Indian Art, architecture, music, dance and festivals with
rich cultural traditions. The most prominent feature of Madras city is the Marina Beach.
This is the 2nd largest Beach in the world extending 11 Kms. in a single
stretch. Places of interest: Marina Beach, Mahabalipuram (the famous historical wonder,
Mammalapuram is situated on the shore of Bay of Bengal, 58 Kms. South of Madras. It was
once a port of Pallavas Emperriors. They have constructed many rock cut monuments
here), Kancheepuram (the "city of thousand temples"is one of the seven
sacred cities and considered as the second Holiest place in India) Back to Hotel and over
night. |

Check out Transfer to Madras International Airport. |
