12 September, 2008 – At the fifth stage of the Tour Cycliste Feminin International de l'Ardèche from Cruas to Meysse-Villeneuve attacked Christiane Soeder from the Cervélo-Lifeforce Pro Cycling Team five kilometer before the finish. The sprinter Diane Ziliute followed her and both was working 4 km together.
Another attack by Soeder was made 1 km ahead of the finish line but the bunch caught her. Diane Ziliute claimed victory while Nicole Cooke (GBR) and Emma Johansson (SWE) took the other two spots on the podium.
Christiane Soeder finished fifth and her team mate Carla Ryan defended again her lead in the young riders ranking. The leader of the overall ranking is still Amber Neben.
Tomorrow, the last stage of the Tour Cycliste Feminin International de l’Ardèche will start and finish in the village Bourg Saint Andéol.
