1 August, 2008 – Das Cervélo-Lifeforce Pro Cycling Team won clearly the UCI Women’s World Cup Team Time Trial in Vargarda (Sweden) and took the first World Cup victory in this season with an advantage of 1.13 min to the Team Columbia. On third rank finished the Team Equipe Nürnberger Versicherungen.
The rehearsal for the Olympic Games succeeded. The team with the three Olympic starter Priska Doppmann (SUI), Karin Thürig (SUI), Christiane Soeder (AUT) as well as the three other strong riders Carla Ryan (AUS), Pascale Schnider (SUI) and Sarah Düster (GER) were driving on the 32 km course in an average of 49,3 km/h!
The season highlight, the Olympic Games in Beijing will kick off soon. In total, four rider of the Cervélo-Lifeforce Pro Cycling Team will start for their country at those games. Kristin Armstrong (USA), Priska Doppmann and Christiane Soeder will take part in the road race (10th of August) and in the time trial (13th of August). Karin Thürig is nominated for the time trial and the track.
