Armstrong fifth in Reading Classic

Armstrong auf Platz 5 5 June, 2008 – The second race of the „Triple Crown“ series took place today in Reading, Pennsylvania (USA). Again a criterium over 25 miles (40,2km) was on the schedule where the races had to ride 14 rounds with each 1,8 miles.

After an attack at nearly the half of the race a elite group with five riders were created, among the racers the Cervélo-Lifeforce Pro Cycling Team rider and former Time Trial World Champion Kristin Armstrong. The group were able to hold the lead until the end of the race where Ina Yoko Teutenberg claimed victory in the finish sprint. Teutenberg took her second victory within two days ahead of Joanna Kiesanowski (NZL, Team Tibco) and Laura van Gilder (USA, Cheerwine Cycling). Kristin Amstrong, who was riding in an untiring manner during the entire competition, finished fifth.

Third and last race of the “Triple crown series”, the “Liberty Classic”, a race of the UCI categorie 1.1 will take place in Philadelphia (USA) on Sunday, 8th of June.
