Top results for Armstrong and Doppmann

Top Platzierungen für Armstrong und Doppmann 1st June, 2008 – After a nearly one month competition break, the Cervélo-Lifeforce Pro Cycling Team riders are back to the race business. Yesterday, on 31st of May, the cyclists were at the start of the 7th UCI Women World Cup competition of in total 11 World Cup races in this season. It took place in the second largest city of Canada, in Montréal. On the 11 x 10 km course, starting at the Park Avenue, all the riders were fighting hard in rainy weather conditions for World Cup points and ‘tickets’ for the Olympic Games in Beijing (CHN).

Following a thrilling race with breakaways and a lot of attacks, which were also made by the Cervélo-Lifeforce Pro Cycling Team, the German World Cup leader Judith Arndt (Team High Road) won in a total race time of 3:11.34h. Kristin Armstrong and Priska Doppmann made a great competition, racing until nearly the end of the race in the leading group and finished at the end on place 5 (Armstrong, 0.34 sec. behind) and place 9 (Doppmann, 0,51 sec. behind).

Judith Arndt and the second placed rider Fabiana Luperini (ITA, Menikini Selle Italia) were able to split the group in the last round and reached the finish straight together, where Arndt had the stronger sprint. Third place took the home favourite Leigh Hobsen, finishing 30 sec. behind the winner.

The next World Cup place will take place in the Swedish Vargarda on 30th July, 2008.
